Description
Media: Mixed-Media on Canvas
Size: 100cm × 50cm
This artwork envisions a completely unified pan-African nation. This aspirational ideal inspired the creation of the African Union and the earlier Organisation of African Unity, though never fully realized in practice.
The concept draws from pan-Africanism, a movement championing unity and solidarity among all people of African heritage across the globe.
The composition features five distinct human figures, each symbolising one of Africa’s major regions. Within each figure are inscribed the unique cultural elements, traditional values, significant landmarks, and notable people that define their respective areas, creating a visual encyclopedia of continental diversity.
The artwork powerfully expresses both the emotional journey of continental African unity and the spiritual reconnection that forms the cornerstone of African diaspora identity worldwide. It presents reunion not just as a political aspiration, but as a cultural and spiritual restoration.
